Sterling Silver Hoop Earrings from the Pompon collection. The collection honors a motif that has a special place in the history of costume, decoration and, more broadly, the decorative arts: the pompon. They are created on a Byzantine mesh chain, also called royal mesh or Peruvian mesh, 'Birdcage' or 'Dilemma of the Fool' depending on the continent and the time. This flexible chain consists of a geometric tangle of rings strung together in a precise and complex pattern. We find our Byzantine chain in a rigid and curved version to create creoles faithful to the pompon style: elegance with a modern twist. Made of sterling silver, they have an alpa clasp and are available in gold finish. The Christofle company has created a collection of jewelry based on this particular motif. This object of trimmings has been found throughout the centuries adorning the most luxurious garments or the most beautiful pieces of historical furniture, sometimes shining with gold or silver threads.
