Studio Christofle reinterprets the Surtout, with independent pieces that are assembled to form a central piece. THE SURTOUT IS THE MOST SOLEMN PIECE THAT SITS ON THE TABLE. The semi-circular tray is slightly raised and decorated with silver metal around the edge. The bottom of the tray is made of a mirror reflecting the beauty of the pieces that can be placed on it. This play of lights and silver reflections compose a magnificent set. The Surtout was used to display serving items such as salt shakers, spice boxes, oil dishes, vinegar dishes and sugar bowls, items that remained on the table throughout the meal.
